The pain to get to that stage must be a walk through hell and back 😯🥴💫

He believed this to an extent though. If you watch some of his training videos he explains how half/quarter reps can be very beneficial for muscle growth if implemented at the end of a set when failure sets in.

I do atg but Platz also said he is uniquely built for depth, he said he gets safety in the deep range from his calve and ham mass pushing back.

“Full range of motion” isn’t always better, there isn’t any evidence that going ATG is better than going to parallel . It’s just broscience.

The only reason I avoid to go too deep is bc straight after my knees start to hurt

In the second picture, he also trained his jaws.

He tried applying that same logic to his shoulders, didn't work out so well for him

Full range of motion is not necessary to build muscle. Half reps are equally effective. But people typically do half reps in the easiest potion of the range of motion. Why don’t more people do half reps in the bottom half? Because they’d have to cut their weight in half and the ego won’t allow that.

It's harder for tall guys to go all the way down

I’m also 6’2 and my knees kill me when I go that deep lol. I could be wrong tho. Let me know

I mean range of motion depends on insertions as well. You also face greater stress on tendons and ligaments when approaching hyper flexion. Not trying to demonize ROM, but kinesiology depends on physical recovery as well as stress.

I guess we should start doing full range of motion lateral raises as well

He would squat like this, but on almost everything else, he would also train various ranges and would completely annihilate the muscle with forced reps and pulsing etc.
