TIP- after completing test, rinse cuvette with rodi water twice. Then, fill cuvette to the top with rodi water and screw top on for storage with cuvette tube full of rodi water. This will avoid the inevitable residue streaking of glass on the inside of cuvette, when it air drys….

Another quality presentation from one of my fav presenters. Can't speak for all, but as a point of feedback, the background dance beat that has crept in in the last few weeks.... suggest turning down or ditching as it is making it really hard to focus on Thomas and core messaging. Otherwise great work team 👏

HOT TIP: get a flat piece of soft polystyrene foam packing a few square inches in size, cut a hole just big enough to poke the cuvette into and boom, easy to use cuvette stand to make sure you don't knock it over while adding reagent. Makes the whole process SOOO much less fiddly.

I always rinse them off twice with rodi water then fill the tube up about 3/4 of the way with rodi water and store it back in its case. It helps with not leaving any water spots.

Hanna for alk...red sea for cal and mag...and nyos for nitrate and phosphate....the ultimate kit for manual testing 👌

Really need to work on the audio mixing. The funk background music is way too loud and distracting.

🤙 Love my hanna checkers although i got a nitrate low range accidentally opps. I use a Qtip for cleaning the vials when i see cloudiness.

Some checkers are worth it, some are a waste because I only need to know if there’s a presence of something and don’t need to know to the exact decimal.

As someone who studies bioscience and know what has to be do to cleaning a vial for accurate readings, knowing how you clean your vials kind of hurts me 😅
I dont say you have to use the cleaning fluid. But first since them thoroughly with tap water and then since them 3 times with RoDi. Meaning fill them partially with RoDi, close with the cap, give them a good shake, empty the vial and repeat.
In this hobby most of us we have RoDi for basically "free" . So why not put it to good use for better measurements. 😉
Also for those with a 3d printer, there are some dry rack and workstation print files available specifically made for hanna checkers

I store my cuvets with RODI water in them. It works like a charm!

The easier a test is to perform: the more likely you are to do it regularly. This mentality is why I bought the few checkers I have.

I only have Alk and Phosphate Checkers, and yes I love mine.
They are fantastic when you want to do (most, not all) a test quickly and accurately. The Alk test is fast and easy. And the phosphate one is about the same speed, however, the colorimeter is far more accurate than my unsteady titration (without a pipettor) which matters when your trying to compare fractions of a ppm. I also hope to add the high range nitrate in the future.

As a point of criticism, sourcing the reagent packet can get difficult in the recent times of upended global supply chains. However, every test kit is subject to that vulnerability.

can this be used out of the box? what else do you have to buy? do you also have to buy the calibration cuvettes?

The individual reagent packets are a pain. Just give us a small jar of reagent and a measuring spoon. Much cheaper to manufacture and keeps the cost down. WIn-win for Hanna and the customers.

TIP - I use a boon bottle drying rack to air dry my cuvettes, works like a charm. Also, does anyone know if the Hanna Magnesium checker is compatibile with the Hanna Master Reef Test Kit?

The moment I put the curvette in the checker, the checker turns off after 3 minutes?! It has batteries in it. Idk what’s wrong with my checker
