A time-lapse of growing garlic from fresh cloves in 42 days. The clove was taken from store-bought garlic bulb and rooting in water for around 20 days. It was then planting into a small pot. The plant was thriving strongly after that. Typically, it might take from 8 to 10 months for garlic to develop from cloves to harvest.

Great video. Once potted in soil, garlic will take approximately 9 months to fully grow.

I bought a bag of garlic that already has the green stems coming out of it. It didn't really have roots but I put them in water and soaked them for a couple days then transferred into soil and within 3 days they're huge.

All this time, I had always thought Texas wouldn't be the right climate water level for garlic! Never thought to search for a video on it... 👏🏼😁 Yep, I've got wet soil and plenty of heat!

Oh, I never knew that you could root them in water! Looks to go far faster than when I have put them directly in soil. And it would make it easier to cull out the dud cloves, without using space in a pot.

I can grow a garlic bulb from clove to fully formed bulb in 90 days. I took the time once to measure the growth of the shoot and it was 1mm per hour.

Is it ok if i cut the green part of garlic before it's full growth ?

We have followed this great method of getting the garlic cloves to root and shoot in water, they were doing very well initially but now they are drooping? Water levels are fine and sometimes we have replaced the water as it was a little cloudy on some days. They have been in water for 12 days now, just wondering whether to pot them now or see if they continue to get worse? They are getting daily sun each day. The roots on them are insane, must be at least 2 inches long
