I love her version of the end of this song, but also the part when she says “thirteen” (childishly) then (going on) “thirty” really adult like. It’s a nice touch. She’s incredibly emotive. It’s been nice to watch these because you often can’t see the nuance of the facial expressions so clearly on stage. Also that she can emote like that while never missing a note is actually astonishing.

this song makes me cry the most out of all the songs, hands down. just imagine a child never having a childhood and being manipulated and assaulted by the men in her life only to be murdered before she turned 20—and i could go to any country in the world and find stories just like this happening right now. so incredibly heart-breaking. and watching samantha act out katherine's realization of this during the song is just perfection.
