If you look closely Darren STILL has a slight Buttwink even with the weightlifting shoes and a modified stance.
A Buttwink on its own is not a bad thing as long as the lower back/spine maintains a straight line or a neutral position.
As it name already says it is a wink, so a minimal posterior pelvic tilt in the bottom position of the squat, which shouldn‘t be exceeded to prevent from high shear forces in the lumbar spine area and prevent from injuries in the L4-L5 and L5-S1 region.
It is something totally different if a bad coach tries to teach you an ATG Squat so that you’re trying to force yourself into a deep squat position with poor ankle-, hip-mobility and sacraficing good posture.

I've been able to get rid of my buttwink during the squat with these tips but one thing that made the most difference for me was just pure proper squat technique - starting with the hips and staying neutral AND not trying to extend the lower back.

I had this problem for years and couldnt figure how to fix it. What you showed is one method but most people even experienced ones don't properly engage/ tighten their lower body and also don't control the speed of the movement during eccentric phase.
Tightening your upper back for grip when the bar is loaded plays importance too.

Way too many people try to go ATG without heels and they simply can't without wink. I can keep my back flat as a board and upright in heeled shoes, but full atg barefoot or in flats is how I herniated a disc.

The most effective tip that I've heard to fix Butt Wink was actually to focus on squeezing the scapulas together throughout the whole movement. Issue solved instantly.

When I try increasing ankle mobility my left ankle seems toblock or cause pain. Any mobility movements to aid in fixing this?

Hey man do you have any tips for knee pain on the back of the leg when bending my knee past 45 degrees? It gets progressively worse the further I go down. I do have really bad hip/ankle mobility and I’m working on it but I’ve been researching for months what I can do to help that pain. I would appreciate it so much if you had any tips because everything I find always focuses on the front side of the knee when it comes to pain. Keep up the good work!

All of these things work, but what about improving the hip hinge function? I rarely see it talked about online but I feel like it's another proper way to get rid of butt wink.

But two of these aren't really solutions because we are changing the movement itself, am I right? I don't want to go wider I find narrow width more comfortable. I was hoping you'd share some exercises.
