5060 needs not only to be good performer at that price range that makes sense, but enough

Daniel: As a math teacher it's your moral obligation to teach people that $499.99 is $500 because the difference is only 0.002% and cheap psychological tricks has no place in education :P

(Edit: I see you flip-flop between the two approaches. I beg of you to refuse to say "ninety nine" on principle matter, whether it's dollars or cents).

17:13 It's obvious that AMD is comparing to the 5800x3d because it wants everyone to keep buying the 7800x3d right up until the 9000 series is available.

Exclamation marks are missing! Instructions

That's the beauty of performance graphs, you can just cut off what you don't like and leave the sky high bars!

I hope they do not go wild with the 5090 and make it 2700 usd

The slide given to us by AMD regarding the 5800x3d and 9700x states that the 5800x3d is running at 105W, while the 9700x is running at 65W. That would probably explain the weird performance numbers as it's not something you've acknowledged. Very cool to see efficiency gains from Ryzen 7000 be advanced even further

I'm still waiting to hear what power connector Nvidia plans to use for the higher-power 5090, since the 4090 connector melting problem has never been fully resolved, from what I've heard. Doesn't seem any prominent GPU testers are asking?

The 5900X is $222.00 and the $5950X is $292.00. Great prices for people still on AM4.

If the geomean is including all resolutions 1080p/1440p/4K and not only 1080p then it makes sense.

If the 4090 was already too much and had to be cut down, how would they manage to sell a cut down 5090 to china? Unless the maximum capabilities we're allowed to export are going to increase

10:28 so the 5090 super duper was no joke

So, while technically the 'new' AMD cards would be a new release in the sense that we couldn't buy them before; the 7990XTX at least was already a 'released' card back in 2022 roughly maybe 2023. Paper release essentially. Never got put out in the wild. But you can find tech specs for what was supposed to be released on techpowerup and technicalcity. Actually, technicalcity has all the 'new' gpu's listed on their site. Not sure for techpowerup in regards to the 7950 models, but they do have the 7990XTX like I mentioned earlier.

I suspect what likely happened is AMD did some binning, and released a certain batch as their workstation W7900 series, saving the best gaming bins for later. They probably were going to release the 7990XTX at one point, but then decided to wait it out and see what Nvidia ultimately pulls out of their oven. Now that Nvidia's specs are better known at this point, AMD is ready to let the 7990XTX out of the cage to compete.

And if the specs on those previous mentioned websites are anything close to accurate; it will compete quite nicely. Nvidia will still probably take the leading edge, like usual; but it's going to be a close one. Techpowerup quotes a boost clock of 3599Mhz. Base of 2500. Game of 3300. Shader same.

5090 is being hyped at roughly 2900Mhz for its base clock. Impressive of course, and hence why they will still take the lead a bit likely. But depending on the range it gets for its boost clock... AMD might eek out some wins.

I see cpu prices increasing I was ready to buy but soon as a 7800x3d goes up $40 or $80 I start looking else where
