It all depends on your needs and budget, if the 5000 series is 1.5-2x faster it will be more expensive than current gpus at least upon release.

The problem with the 5080 is it will probably get scalped immediately so if you want it you just have to buy a FE right at launch and hope for the best in terms of early adopter problems or miss out on future deals if a Ti version drops or a nice AIB version. On top of that who knows what will happen with china, based on what ive seen it looks like america will continue the trade war since they are sanctioning chinese banks now and they were talking about GPU tariffs earlier. Really frustrating situation, i wish they would let us know the whole product stack so we could decide to wait or buy now.

If you're considering a 4k, 240hz monitor, would be a good idea to wait for 50 series because of display port 2.1 which isnt on 40 series; especially for 80, 90, high end series cards if you want high fps
