It's really comforting to me - as someone whose home & life have been totally turned upside down by this though, only 2 years after Ian did the same thing - to see a weatherman or any official who clearly cares about us & what we're going through.
God be with everyone who has damage to their homes & lives - & everyone who has lost even more than that. I'm praying for all of you, & please pray for my family too, if you can.

My mom doesnt want to evacuate, she lives 30 miles from Fort Myers. Shes been undermining this storm since day once. I kept telling her to prepare and shes done minimal. Im all the way up in Indiana..

Edit: best of luck to my commenters with family back in Fort Myers. I grew up there all my life, I feel your pain.
I am talking to my mom, don't worry. Make sure your loved ones are safe.

Edit: I managed to convince her to take it seriously and she actually boarded up the house today. She's prepared everything, but still refuses to leave. My uncle doesn't live to far so he will check on her when the storm is over. She has a 2005 house, uncle has 2022 house.
When the storm does hit I probably won't be able to speak for her for awhile. Please be safe guys.

Prayers are needed for the ppl of Florida. Hurricane Helene came in about 10 days ago and the devastation is beyond belief...this man has a insight and understands what's about to occur. The storm is not survivable
