Hurricane Milton: Why was this meteorologist reduced to tears describing storm?

Hurricane Milton reduced a US meteorologist with 33 years' experience reporting on hurricanes to tears live on air.

What prompted the moment, said NBC's John Morales afterwards, was atmospheric pressure.

"It's funny how millibars can get a nerd to lose it," he said.

Experts warn the storm could become one of Florida's "most destructive hurricanes" with nearly six million people said to be in the potential path of the extreme conditions.

Presumably because he really understands what he's talking about and he places value on human life. Which is an uncommon combination in the USA.

An educated man foresees the future. A hard attribute to carry with humility.I hope people see his concern and take notice.

The way they asked that question was a bit misleading if I'm honest. He is a man with a good heart. Simple is that, he understands how devastating that hurricane is and will be.

People, could learn something from this man, as a honest man, he said, extreme weather events are multiplying, they are more frequent, more severe and they are reaching, severe catastrophic levels. As a climate communicator for several decades, he is frustrated, that not enough is being done…………

*Reporters are people first. They can only see so much crime, sadness, carnage, pain, destruction, disasters, corruption, etc, before they completely crack.*

*Human emotions and natural compassionate response or grief will ALWAYS trump “Required” professional composure.*

*Somehow, Mr. Morales, here, somehow managed to dodge a total emotional unraveling for 33 years. God bless him, and all who are affected by these storms.*

Why does yalda look so happy to see a man cry over a tragedy?

People have stated that his emotional response is what made them realize they needed to take the storm seriously. We have had several storms come nearby and cause minimal damage. Thereby causing complacency. He saved lives with his emotions.

That man is an incredible professional and his humanity reflects his love for his profession and the people/community he informs. God bless him ❤

Maybe because he knows someone in Florida or is actually capable of compassion! Unlike most sky reporting

3:38 Maybe that's because they recatagorised hurricanes as being anything over 5mph windspeeds these days 🤔🙄

There are better things to be focused on than doing ‘reaction videos’ to current events coverage.
