Hi 👋 ! My Name is Alice, I created The Mini ADHD Coach in August 2020 when I was just diagnosed with ADHD at 29.
After years of questioning, therapy, burnout, and chaotic career path changes, I finally understood why I struggled with so many things.
So I decided to share what I learned to raise awareness around ADHD and help the ADHD community thrive.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, commonly known as ADHD, can often be associated with challenges in focusing, impulse control, and executive functioning. One common manifestation of these challenges is procrastination. Individuals with ADHD may struggle with organizing tasks, estimating the time needed for completion, and initiating activities. They often become easily distracted or overwhelmed, leading to the postponement of tasks. Understanding the link between ADHD and procrastination can be crucial for devising strategies to overcome delays and improve productivity.

Furthermore, the cycle of procrastination can sometimes lead to increased feelings of guilt and stress for those with ADHD. The underlying reasons for this procrastination can be multifaceted. Beyond difficulties with attention and impulse control, many ADHD individuals experience what is known as "time blindness" – a challenge in accurately perceiving the passage of time. This can make long-term tasks especially daunting as the individual struggles to break them down into manageable segments.

More things can be done to help you manage your time wisely and avoid the endless spiral loop that can significantly affect your everyday life. The first step is to accept that procrastination doesn't necessarily mean laziness. It's just that, our ADHD brains are wired differently. I got diagnosed with ADHD last year at the age of 30, how I usually explain people on why I sometimes can’t do the dishes and feel ‘paralysis’ it just feels like too much. It is the same as the feeling you get when you think about doing something that hurts yourself, let’s say the stove is on, nothing is stopping you from touching the fire but your body is stopping you .. that is the feeling I get with all day normal activities that feel like a must do and are boring.

Timers and such usually work the first few for me but then stop working. I am still trying to figure out what works for me to start a habit 😅

I lay here watching this and thinking how I am going to try this stuff. But I will have to watch it again because halfway through the video I zone out and was thinking about something entirely different.😂🤣😂 I will watch it again tomorrow with my son. I think he might need this worse than me.✌🏻💟😁📝🇺🇸

Please talk about ADhD vs ASD and how they both get laughed at by doctors who think we are all just lazy, misdiagnosed TikTok fakers.

Thank you here too. I just started my masters two months ago and I can’t believe of my act of procrastination. I already did masters back 13years ago but I don’t that I was this serious then. It seems my symptoms are getting worse, of thinking it might be enhanced through stress. I will try the things on video.

The problem is with ADHD you cannot be consistent enough to make it a habit. It lasts two three four days and then it's gone. How do you form consistency with you need to form the habits you need when the ADHD prevents you from having the consistency you need?

You can't create habits, because you grave new things. Doing something more than 3 times isn't new. So its more like, challenging yourself every day. Even eating at a consistent time is challenging 😂 everyday i go to sleep at different times. //There is only one advantage, if i do something, i do it until i am exhausted 😂 be it games or learning something new. All or nothing.
