I rarely eat breakfast because I'm not hungry. I start my day with a 2.3 mile walk, then coffee. Not really hungry till late morning or early afternoon.
An aside: I didn't lose muscle from not eating, I lost it from chemo and other cancer meds a couple of years ago, but have since have recovered from both cancer and muscle loss. As my aunt used to say, "if you don't have your health, you don't have anything."

Thanks, DB. Love knowing all the facts to support my IFing-way of life! (Since adopting IFing, I have happily not eaten breakfast for about 4-5 years, have dropped 10-20 lbs. and am at the top of my game both mentally and physically. With your great help, of course.:))

My nutritionist says eating protein first thing in the day for breakfast helps reset circadian rythems which contributes to helping our overall metabolic and hormone balance/ing.

My breakfast is coffee. I am not very hungry in the a.m., only if i start eating breakfasts. My eating desire comes on in the evening usually. When i used to eat lunch out, i would crave lunches. Anyway, breakfast has been unnecessary. Skipping it keeps my insulin from jumping and prevents me from eating anything with sugar, that makes me want to eat even more. Much of weight gain for me is due to starting to eat and also eating the wrong things. I find it easier to delay the start of eating vs stopping once i start eating. I am always surprised that no one really talks ab food momentum or the ability of food to kind of make you hungrier and crave more. So that is really where the major damage is done, right? Yes. When u r not eating insulin-spiking foods, you can take more control of your hormones. When i eat out or when I eat sugary, processed treats, i seem to just have an endless appetite. I call this the Raid the Refrigerator state. It is a sad spot to be in and will result in weight gain and higher grocery costs ober time. So it is very much ab eating fewer meals and eating foods that are nutrient dense and not insulin spikers. I mean, i did it so it works for me.

I love breakfast each morning. Gives me the energy to last throughout the day actually. Then I’ll have something for dinner like salmon. Works.

Actually, eating a little breakfast lowers my high fasting blood sugar. It doesn’t have to be much, but it does bring numbers down.

I eat breakfast (I break my fast) around noon. ;) I love not having to eat first thing.

I have been skipping breakfast for 4 months and I feel great, no need to fill my stomach in the morning. I just drink a cup of lemon juice with warm water.

Thanks for at the end mentioning of low blood sugar. It's so correct since I'm diabetic type 2 and taking medication that it's important for some to definitely not skip breakfast. I get sluggish and slightly confuse after I test myself from first thing in the morning. It can be bad for some diabetic type 2 or even 1 to skip breakfast. Also in my situation I get hungry. Every diabetic type 1 or 2 is different! Not set in stone.

It is not a safe to skip breakfast or eat a small one bcos the previous meal of supper was several hours prior. As a body needs food, it will be advisable to drink hot water then eat fruits followed by protein and oil rich breakfast.
Note that your last meal fuels the body for only approx four hours then you have to eat, otherwise eventually ketosis starts. So during the day, you can delay meals to induce ketosis. To induce ketosis at breakfast time is starvation which you must avoid due to detrimental effect on blood composition.

I personally hate eating breakfast because I’m not hungry when I wake up. Eating is the last thing I want to do. However, for the past few months, I have been forcing myself to eat breakfast since I am also told “it’s the most important meal of the day.” I have finally adapted to it and am not as opposed to eating in the morning, but I could easily go without it.

Love your videos. Very concise, scientifically-based, sound advise. Thank you. I do miss your plants on the stove. I hope they return when the weather warms up.

Lunch is the most important to me because I eat right between 12 pm & 1 pm and that's what breaks my fast. I'm not famished either, I eat a huge salad with bacon, olives, cheese, flax seeds, nuts & eggs for lunch or green beans with low carb meat sauce & cheese. So many low carb options out there.I eat nothing after 6 pm at night, low carbs & I lost 40 lbs. It was easier than I thought it would be and my Lyme symptoms are greatly reduced and I have more energy. Thanks for your videos.
