We need to get back to being able to buy a regular work truck a working man can afford

The new trucks have too much crap on them You don't need. $70, 000 is way out of reach for most people, especially on something that depreciates so fast.

The biggest problem is that most people are still stuck on the foreign built thing. I used to be a die hard Dodge fan but now a days I'm a whatever I can afford at the time fan lol

One of the biggest reasons trucks aren't selling: TOO FUCKING EXPENSIVE!!! If you're gonna spend as much as they're asking, people just upgrade to the better versions instead. Like a Ram is already expensive, and the R/T is only a trim package, not a performance & suspension package like the 70s, so it's not worth the HUGE extra cost to people. Also, no manual transmission as an option is a JOKE. Add that as an option and they WOULD be selling those trucks. Seriously, the R/T should have a 2" dropped suspension with higher spring rate, larger sway bars, 22" wheels instead of 20s, and the 6.4L V8, possibly with a slightly hotter cam, and the 6speed manual as an option. THAT'S what the R/T SHOULD be. THAT'S how you get people to buy those trucks.

What really kills.me is that gm and others have turned trucks into station wagons of the 1960s. What about the old fashioned work truck? No one needs to spend $40, 000 on a truck.

It's always been the big 3.
It's what you can afford as well
I would rather live in my house then my truck.
50 to 70 thousand for a truck that's insane.

Love trucks, but can't justify the cost as they are beyond ridiculously priced. Used trucks are beat to hell with mileage like the actually drove it to hell and back and are still priced like 20k! Somebody needs to just make a new "old" truck. Basic and cheep!

Alot of the base model trucks out there are nice, they just aren't cheap enough.

Almost every older Chevy truck, like the one behind, them has at least one daytime running light out around here. I laugh every time I see one.

The reason the R/T Ram isn't a huge seller is because the Express model eclipses it. The Express is also available with the same 5.7 liter Hemi V8, SWB and single cab, but uses a 60/40 bench-style seat, fewer luxury options and still comes with 20" chrome-clad wheels, fog lights and body-color matched bumpers. It has all the performance of the R/T without the extra luxury and price, and it will seat 3 people.

I've talked to many truck shoppers and the main reason ppl don't buy the tundra is its awful fuel mileage

I have the F150 with the 5.0! Love it! It's a beast with the 3.73 gears. Tows 10k, though the most I tow is 7k! Do more than enough for me.

Was at dodge the other day, they're asking 54k CDN for a regular cab shortbox sport. Checked ford they want 82k CDN for a platinum ecoboost. This is why the shit doesn't sell, they're not selling trucks anymore...they're selling luxury.

BRING BACK SMALL TRUCKS! Even midsize trucks these days (Colorado, Taco, Fronty) are the size of full sized trucks 20 years ago. I have an 09' Taco, 2.7 four banger with a 5-speed manual and 4wd. It's a regular cab and that's all I need. I had to go out of my way to find one in a market flooded with mega-cabs, automatic transmissions and off-road packages that 1% of buyers actually use. Trucks these days are small apartments on wheels. Bring back small, practical trucks!!! I hate you chicken tax...

Thanks for mentioning the Nissan Frontier. I recently purchased a used
2016 Frontier. It's a great truck for the money. It has plenty of power, great in the snow and runs nice at highway speeds.
