No apologies for their actions against you. Anytime you express how hurt or bad they made you feel, they will act like you are out of line as if: "how dare you have feelings that get hurt everytime I abuse you!"
That is the narcissists messed up head right there.
They always veer off anytime you bring up a topic of concern or anything that is important to you.

Sometimes it's more peaceful to stay quiet because you can't get a genuine answer from a narc. He won't admit anything. It's useless to explain yourself to a narc monster man. He is just going to use it against you. Whenever I explained myself to a narc man he will call me dramatic, it's my fault, he didn't done anything wrong, he is a great man and it's my problem. I even lose my weight and my health because of a narc man. A narc man will say sorry but will make you feel horrible at first. So not everyone who use silent treatment is a narc. It's just useless to talk to a narc evil man when all he does is going to make you feel horrible for talking how he made you feel bad and abused. Better not talk to a narc horrible man. He can't say anything bad in everything he does. He thinks he is the greatest and kindest. Evil liar monster man.

I got the silent treatment on vacation and it ruined it for me. I stopped talking and waited to see how long he would ignore me on vacation. It lasted the entire time. We broke up after and I will NEVER tolerate the silent treatment ever!!!

30 years of marriage with this treatment. I told him, the next time you want to stop talking to me for a week... I can't guarantee what I will do. And he never did it again.😊

Endured this constantly in an 11 year marriage. It usually lasted weeks then, like you said, the switch flipped and it was as if nothing had happened. Silence was usually broken by an out of the blue question about something functional or a plate of food put in front of me. Last time he did it I had lost the ability to fight for things to be any different. I finally left after 5 months of silent treatment, but for more reasons than just that, then all hell broke loose. It is inhumane torture at the hands of someone who is indifferent to your suffering.

The longest my husband has given me the silent treatment was 11 days in the same house! With all 3 kids, it was insane he would just come home and go to his room leave me to do everything. He broke it to say “you owe me an apology” 😅 and honestly it was the best time I had in awhile my heart rate was down my swelling was down my nerve system was calm . His silence was peaceful . I knew I had to let him go after that. Someday I will be free of him

I was also given the treatment from another guy on my bday. He had no gift, no plans and ignored me completely. We also broke up afterward. Nope, I will never tolerate that ever again.
