Windows 11 24H2 'Recall' AI needs to be Opt-In, because Most Users will Disable it

The objection I have is there’s no way to uninstall Recall if you don’t want or need it. Its baked into Windows and that removes user control over the Windows experience. I.should decide what to keep or to remove from Windows and Microsoft shouldn’t take away personal autonomy and privacy.

This would be blatantly illegal in the EU, so they're going to have to change it before launch if they don't want a massive fine. (unless of course they're planning on doing an EU-only version while shafting everyone else)

As a side note I've noticed my PCs since the last round of updates are all now telling me there's a problem with my MS account and I should log in. I have a MS account but I only log into it rarely as I don't normally need anything it offers beyond transferring keys to a new motherboard or similar. Appears MS is trying to goat people to stay logged in at all times now.

The presentation screen of the new tool is great, although personally I don't see many interesting uses for it, since M. Edge already has many features that help you remember and save what you need. 😅

I would like to respectfully disagree with something you say in your title. I do not think most users would disable it. Even though an overwhelmingly number of users on this channel would disable it, I don't think the users on this channel represent the average user. Also, users will be getting it installed and turned on with new PC's and will not think to turn it off. So, I think that the overwhelming number of AVERAGE users will not turn it off, and thus most users will not turn it off.
