Most technicians know that deleted does not mean gone, just harder to find and recover, but they can usually be recovered. Also parts of Chat GPT 5 needs to be connected online to send data to the cloud where it does most of its AI. It is after all an AI cloud based application.

Thank you! I am very concerned about this. At this stage, I am using Linux Lite on an old PC, but soon, I will have a new custom PC, and I have been thinking of potentially putting Linux on that computer, but I would need Windows for certain software and games, so I am not sure what I should do. I need something thats convenient but not a privacy/data hog and a PC resource hogger. Perhaps I will try Proton DB on Linux Mint or Ubuntu, and test out some games I really want, to see if its worth switching to Linux on my new computer. I will keep my old PC, so I would be ok using Windows on the custom, but I would often need internet access, especially for some games and software.

Even if it's deleted, there is a possibility of the deleted items to reappear.

I would be concerned with anything financial especially any cryptocurrency. Some countries want to track, tax, monitor cryptocurrency transactions. Recall can aid this snooping with forensic accuracy.

Microsoft may be able to claim they aren’t sending the snapshots to the cloud, but they’re likely being disingenuous. They’ll do something like fingerprinting such that they can notify “authorities” when it perceives something “undesirable” present (similar to Apple’s CSAM).
