Bad News For Windows Recall & How To Disable it

Microsoft pulled Windows Recall from the latest beta and have stated that it will not be included in the launch of Copilot plus PCs. They have some big changes they are making to it before it returns and I will show you how to disable it for when that time comes.

The other thing Windows recall would be doing is sucking down your resources and taking up so much space on your hard drive.

Here's my theory - take it or leave it: Microsoft knew they would get extreme backlash for introducing Recall no matter what, so they purposely announced what was supposed to be an unfinished BETA version to prompt user outrage, so they could backtrack and release the finished version with its security "enhancements" (or whatever they call it), and people wouldn't complain so much.

Thanks for the update. I have to say though, that I've been on Ubuntu Linux since the initial announcement of Recall, and it's going great. Office stuff works, my games all work, my devices all work.. if you can, give it a shot.

If it is installed, it can be used, the best security against that particular something being used at all is to not have it installed.

After listening to you about the feature…I honestly don’t need a searchable database.
Plus I cannot imagine the amount the bloatware it will try to add. As is most windows since 10 has so much bloatware that I literally try to strip down every feature windows has to make my pc run smoother.

Probably Microsoft comes with this solution: As we have seen the local database didnt work we will store your data in our super secure data centers.

I'm on Windows 10 & can't go to Windows 11 on this pc and I think this might be time to finish my 40 year relationship with Microsoft.
More and more it feels like I don't own the computer that I built myself because of the choices Microsoft impose on us. It might be time for me to revisit the possibility of a Linux that can simulate windows in a box!

For me this recall feature is unusefull. I would never use it even if it was safe and private.

It didn't even take serious malware to grab the Copilot data, just a simple Python script.

Will AI feature slow down your computer running in the background? Also will degrade your SDD drive constant writing and fill up your storage.
