Random video but for anyone with a MSI GT77 Titan laptop, this is how to get the RAM to run at it's XMP speeds. Won't apply to anyone without a MSI laptop! If you have no XMP or want to know how to enable XMP on the GT77 Titan, this is how.

If anyone has any alternative methods for enabling the XMP, advise in the comments! Also, if anyone has found a solution to the boot delay, again please put your findings in the comments!

Thanks! My GT77 (13th gen) came with 2x 32gb 2Rx8 at DDR5-4000, even a different set of 2x 16gb 1Rx8 5600 sticks ran at 4000 out of the box too.. I followed this and changed all 4 variables from 2000 to 2800 (half of 5600) and it seems to have done the trick. Running at correct CL46 timings for the memory kit too without having to change them manually.

I don’t have a memory tab what do I do instead?

When I got this laptop, I also saw the 4000mhz and was a bit disappointed and confused why as it should be 4800. Although I already get a boot delay as is without changing settings.

I also got a 5 or 7 minute delay when I put a new nvme in. Scared me half to death. Booted finally, flashed screen a couple times, turned off. So weird. Then it worked. But apparently my BIOS settings got magically erased and I had to redo them.

Gave you a like cause you're literally the only person who actually addressed this. There's very few videos on the gt77.

Also, I'd be curious to see you do some crystal mark benchmarks (or other) on this with 4000 vs 4800 on a ramdrive (or other kinds of ram tests), just to see if one of them is actually faster. I know from reading up on the formulas that "faster" isn't necessarily actually faster as it depends on the timings and other things (but I didn't calculate the numbers).

Edit: If I plug in 4800 and CAS of 40, latency is 16.6ns. With 4000 and CAS of 32, latency is 16ns

Hey thanks for the video. Do you know if there is any issue to run 2x 16gb and 2x 32gb ram sticks? Or is it better just to run 2x 32gb?

I have a new GT77HX 13 VI-028US, with 128GB RAM 4 x 32GB (Crucial 4800MHz). I tried your settings and after the 5 minute reboot wait, logged into Windows 11 and with 15 seconds the video all moved to the top 2 inches of the screen, all messed up. I rebooted and saw the start screen for windows for about 3 seconds before the screen went blank. After several reboots, I finally got into the UEFI settings screen and changed everything mentioned in this video back to original settings. The laptop is running normally again. There has to be other settings that need to be changed or tweaked for this to work properly. I appreciate your video and thank you for showing me the "secret bios settings". Take care.

Any updates on how to prevent the delay boot after changing the memory settings to 2400Mhz?

MSI Slow Boot-up times: For these MSI bios, no you can't set profiles and that means each time you need to reset to Defaults, you'll then need to go back to your boot configuration and delete everything except the C drive from that list. Also you should move the C drive to the top of the list giving it 1st boot priority. If you ever need to boot from USB you'll need to come back here and enable booting from USB... but I promise this knocks like 40 seconds off MSI laptop boot time.

The option Memory doesn't show in my BIOS. I only get Memory Thermal Configuration and Memory Training Algorithms. Is it possible my Thin GF63 doesn't have XMP profile?

Why the hell MSI has removed option to load XMP profiles on such high-end machine? It's very bad from performance perspective. MSI's BIOS was always fully unlocked and what happened now?

I tried this method with my Titan gt77 13 VI, on Kingston Fury 5600 (KF556S40) sticks. Unfortunately, I think it does not work. How long does it take to start computer after clicking in the BIOS change "2000-2400"? On my Titan fans are spinning, computer is doing something, but after half an hour I lose hope. BTW these memories can be set as low as CAS 24, you can also shorten other times (in aida 74.5 ns) -but all only at 4000. With such a change, I wait for the boot 5 minutes. (once, then starts normally).
ps. I emailed Kingston tech support and was told: these sticks should work properly with GT77. So it's definitely a matter of MSI BIOS settings.

Few people on Reddit switched their ram sticks and the XMP profile worked perfectly it even worked on 5200 MHZ

hey, Neil, do yu think lumion and enscape are dependent on wattage if both are of same gpu like 3070 140w vs 3070 85w?

Please help, I just did this with my GT77 HX 13VI and it has been 30 minutes and nothing. It did the white light like you said and then went back to orange, but the logo never comes up. It appears to be completely bricked.
