This is a simple video showing how to change your RAM speed using Intel XMP profiles on a Gigabyte Motherboard with an Intel chipset featuring an AMI EFI (bios). This video is using the basic UEFI, NOT the 3D bios menu.
1) Press the Delete key repeatedly as soon as the computer powers on. You can stop once the UEFI screen is presented (as shown in the video.
2) Press the down arrow until the highlighted option is "Advanced Frequency Settings", press Enter to enter the next menu. You can alternatively enter the "Advanced Memory Settings" menu to access the XMP sub-menu.
3) Press the down arrow until the highlighted option is "Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.)". Press Enter to open this sub-menu.
4) Press the down arrow until the highest number profile is selected. Press Enter to select that profile. In my case Profile1 is 1600mhz, Profile2 is 1866mhz, so I use profile 2.
5) Press the right arrow key until the "Save & Exit" option is highlighted. Highlight "Save & Exit Setup" on the menu, press Enter. Highlight "Yes" when promoted to "Save configuration and exit?" Press Enter one last time.
Congratulations your RAM is now running at its highest rated speed based on the Intel eXtreme Memory Profiles it is equipped with. If you experience instability or crashing after raising your RAM speed, drop your speed down to a lower profile until your system runs stable.
