He was never afraid of death. Ever. But what he was afraid of was losing another person he cared about. The thoughts that went through his head before death arrived to him, was that everyone is safe now. That's all he wanted, for his family to be safe.

Casting Daniel Craig as James Bond was a stroke of utter genius.

He IS James Bond, he has redefined the character so much that it's impossible to think of anybody else in the role.

But there WILL be somebody else - and they'll get a superb storyline over 5 movies. We're not going back to a "wink wink, nudge nudge, kiss kiss, bang bang" style of Roger Moorish/Austin Powers James Bond movie.

Who will be the next Bond?

Well - many famous names have been floated, and they're all wrong - mainly because of age.

You can't cast ANYONE over 35 years old - so Idris Elba (who must be pushing 70 by now) is out.

Tom Hardy? Terrific actor - but not sure he's right for Bond.

There MUST be an up and coming actor we've never heard of (hardly anybody had heard of Daniel Craig - hence the initial backlash to the best Bond in history) - someone with serious acting chops who is less than 35 years old.

As an unknown, they would jump at the chance to have their life/wealth transformed by being James Bond.

I'm sure such a person exists - they've always existed. Ask Daniel Craig.
