Did Darth Vader Remember Rex? Did Darth Vader Remember Rex? Although the Emperor had forced Vader, to destroy all remnants of Anakin Skywalker, ghosts from his former self haunted him. In the canon novelisation Lords of the Sith, Vader and his master, are travelling to the world of Ryloth with senator Orn Free Taa. As they approach the atmosphere of Ryloth, Vader is first reminded of the padawan Ahsoka Tano, and their previous journey to the world, and after discarding that memory, the fire from their shuttle reminded him of Mustafar, Obi-Wan and Senator Amidala. After Sidious told him to not linger on these memories, a crash landing on Ryloth brought another memory, as one of the Royal Guards removed their helmets, and the face reminded Vader of Rex, Cody, Fives and Echo, as he drifted into the Force, then saw all of Anakin Skywalker’s treacherous acts.
