In keeping with the overall mantra of the Channel, " life is too short to drive boring cars". Lexus, no doubt, fine cars.
But I didn't retire and reward myself with a Lexus. A BMW for me. No regrets and I wish that I would have bought it sooner.

I have a BMW X5 2021 plug in. I’m so so impressed that I never have to put gas in it. It’s such an amazing ride, I love it so much!!!

A Lexus will still be driveable 30 years from now without any major repairs ever needed. Can't say that about a BMW.

Geesh man I wish I could argue these points being a huge fan of BMW, but I cannot..good stuff to say the least.

Honestly my bmw transmission has a problem. I thought it's better to sell my x3. Now I'm good with rx350 f sport. Heck of reliability. Will update you after 1 year

This dude is a more sophisticated Scotty Kilmer (that's a compliment), I would like to see you to do a deep dive on the Toyota 4Runner Limited. I appreciate your objectivity and incorporation of Economics in your analysis.

While on the paper the Lexus does better in resale, the bmw being cheaper on gas and insurance will offset that. If you own a Lexus over 7-10 years as many owners do, it will add up. Also sooner or later Lexus will start breaking down. The parts do wear out. The winters will do its thing. That was my experience.

Honestly, I prefer the reliability over "endless pits of money. " 🙄 Lexus is by far my favorite luxury car!😄

Honestly I got a bmw x5 2017 sold it some reasons though. And switched to Lexus gx460 2020 now 2021 we family went to Yosemite up to 7k ft high oh man it crawled like a Toyota collorla God terrible. Before bmw x5 35i we went to sequoia 8k ft high. It going up like it not going up there though. So well. But some reason again I had to switch

Another Reason for BMW’s sharp depreciation is because they break down all the time and cost a fortune to fix. Not to mention they are endless money pits. But hey, they have a great driving experience 😃 until they break down that is.

The reason the leased BMW's flood the market after 3 years is because the people who lease them realize that BMW after 3 years will fall apart. Yes BMW uses more expensive tech but that's its exact downfall. LEXUS sees luxury as dependability, comfort, and quality that will last without worry. BMW sees luxury as flash, speed, and status symbol. BMW may use more performance oriented parts but they arent nearly as reliable as what lexus builds.

IMHO, I think BMW vs Lexus is really apples & oranges. They each appeal to a different crowd (market). I have several vehicles and they all serve different purposes. A BMW for the sport/luxury experience, another car for dependability, a truck for things I need a truck for, and a project to build into what I want it to be. None can replace any other. The market dictates the value, so I don't lose any sleep over depreciation or reliability. I've chosen what I did for reasons of my own and I accept each of them for what they are. I think too many people get caught up in the 'comparison' mindset and end up wasting a lot of time and worry over things that ultimately aren't going to change anyway.

I bought a new bmw for driving pleasure of.. the car, I didn’t care about how much it’s worth a few years later .. Because it’s what I wanted.. I’ve taken care of it .. not had any mechanical problems .. but sometimes it depends on the difference in the models .. I bought it ready to pay if I need to.. I’m ok with that..

We are not trying to change their minds( BMW lovers.) But they start to say how wonderful those car are, like they have 40 million of miles, they went to the Everest, or to the bottom of the ocean, etc. They just have to check the hard numbers. 🙄

This dude's seems to be giving false information since I watched him saying BMW are reliable.
Every kid knows BMW isnt a reliable car.
