Bought used Range Rover from dealership (not under warranty) and very first month Sunroof started leaking (drain pipe broken at frame)
Repair cost estimate = $11, 000

I can say after owning my 2015 lexus rc 350, the car is almost bullet proof, don't matter if you drive hard or slow the car is very strong and fun to drive

Don't forget higher insurance costs and higher fuel costs. Too many plastic pieces under the hood now. Just research the price of a 1 or 2 year old BMW compared to a new one. The values just fall off a cliff. Planned obsolescence my friends.

I bought a BMW in 1999 and had nothing but problems with it. I've bought 8 cars for my family since then and not one of them was a German car.

Luxury is not comfort, always remember.

The idea of luxury is just owning or experiencing something that other don't have.

Key take aways:
1) Luxury cars are great short term cars to have, but will cost a lot to maintain with age.
2) Leasing will save you a lot of money in the long run if you want a luxury European car.
3) If you are a “buy it and drive it into the ground” kind of car owner, Lexus or Acura are going to be the best luxury brands for you.

From windows, to seats, to sun roofs, onboard coolers, fans, and door locks, anytime you put over a hundred electric motors or actuators in one vehicle, the chance of something going wrong is going to be pretty good.

When I was in my teens and young twenties, I once told myself that I will get a Mercedes-Benz one day. Now that I'm in my mid forties and having a good paying career, I realize now that high end luxury cars are mostly just vanity and not really worth buying unless you actually can afford the repair costs. Also, if you purchase the upper trim levels of many mainstream cars and SUV's(Honda Accord Touring, Toyota Camry XSE, Toyota Highlander Limited, etc), they are just as luxurious as many luxury branded vehicles, and sometimes, the mainstream models have more standard equipment, yet still sells at a lower price.

Yes, you are right. This is what I'm telling others. At the end, Lexus and Acura are the best.

I have nothing against any companies, but I have so many friends who have problems with their Audi's comparing to other German brands

Yeah, been thinking of a new Lexus, but dropping 50K on a car is against my religion...

Spot on. Just like to add that patronizing an independent mechanic will save you heaps of $$$ on repairs over the stealerships

Not Acura, by far Lexus is much much more reliable and durable.
Acuras used to be reliable two decades ago but not anymore.
From transmission issues, wheel bearing, rust issues when the car ages. Just compare 10 year old Acuras to 15 year old Lexus. The Lexus by far ages better without any rust and built bulletproof quality.

I’ve owned at least 15 cars, only one was German. A 2004 VW Jetta. Worst car I’ve ever owned. It was falling apart inside and mechanically by 100, 000 miles. Still looked pretty good though.

Yeah but those warranty’s are tied to specific services intervals. Like if you get your oil change somewhere else thats not the dealer. The warranty is voided.

Lexus & Acura are kings.... aside from these 2 brands, I would consider Genesis G series & Porsche Macan

Hi, please what do you think about the new 2022 Acura type S advance, is it going to be reliable?

Lexus vehicles are solid across the board. One needs to watch a documentary on how best employees from Toyota are picked for Lexus brands, etc. to understand how well they are made. However, they won't get my business until they change the grill. Can't bear to look at those. Clearly I'm wrong as I see so many of those out there.

One thing which confuses me is that even lexus cars, let's say the LX570 have gotten too many electronics and obviously the air suspension yet they claim to be more reliable than any German car. Any explanation for this?
