I eat porridge every day.. and because I'm diabetic 2 I put a small amount of honey and salt in it. If I put the amount that Jamie Oliver suggests.. that would be the end of me!

I’ve been eating steel cut oats where I use oat milk as the liquid, then add 3 medjool dates (chopped) in the last 5 minutes. Serve with cinnamon. It’s plenty sweet.

500 g apple (grated) + 150 oats - - mix, leave to set for 30 mins. Add 1 egg, 100 ml coconut milk, a handful of raspberries. Transfer to a pie tray, bake on 200 C for 40 mins

Brown sugar and some cinnamon and a few raisins. Sometimes I substitute sliced bananas for the raisins. Yummy

In germany it's called Haferflockensuppe and you cook it with milk only and add sugar. It's super creamy

I melt a pat of butter, add dry oats and toast oats in that butter. Add water, sea salt. Cinnamon or cardamom with lime zest. My sweetener is USDA ORGANIC maple syrup.

I used to add a knob of butter when serving hot porridge. Good with some brown sugar.

I make mine for just me. 1 teacup of rolled oats. 3 cups of milk. Pinch of salt. Bring to boil, turn heat down and simmer for 5 mins stirring all the time - i don't like my oats overcooked. Let stand for 2 mins then into a bowl with a light drizzle of local honey

I always make it with milk, and a dash of sugar and salt. When plating up, I serve it with a cinnamon/sugar mix with a small knob of cold butter on top.

I roll my own oats everyday and add a little bit of sucanat and Irish butter. Sometimes I might make it with raisins or apple pieces. Yum!

Scotland, you cook porridge with salt, a wee bit of milk . Golden syrup is just pure sugar. More nutrition using the full oat groat takes 30 minutes to cook, best ever

Brown sugar, dried cranberries, butter and milk or Italian sweet cream but I make oatmeal. I just like it creamy. I am trying to figure out the difference between that and porridge. I eat grits sometimes too but I was thinking porridge was more like cream of wheat texture. However I have not eaten that before either so I am so new to this. All my shows I watch ppl giving porridge to their friends and loved ones when they are sick. I am so curious about this food! 😄

My grandmother used to take almost the same measurements. However, instead of water she cooked based on milk. She added cinnamon sticks, and sugar (no salt) and when was served she sprinkled cinnamon powder on top. I cannot have it otherwise and I am an old man already.
