Funny how you go into detail about why Moregaard won the game and yet nearly all the footage seem to be of points Wang won. 🤔

Truls played the match of his life and perhaps Wang not, but agree it is very good for the competiton that at least sometimes the best ones can loose. It is good for the sport.

Not using your main paddle where you have already master the grip, feeling, control and emotional attachment can take a huge toll specially for a big tournament like the Olympics. Any professional will tell you so even tho you have spare rackets with the same set up but its not the same regardless on how it feels in your hands.

I know it's selfish, but I'm secretly happy. I wanted team China to be taught a lesson when they didn't choose Ma Long for singles.

It was wcq's racket, thats it. Moregard isnt the better player, hes just lucky wcq was forced to use his spare racket

I was at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles (South Paris Arena table tennis stadium), the audience is amazing. Let's hope the good results for Felix Lebrun, and Alexis Lebrun. I have met a lot of amazing players at the event. But the Olympics organisation is not very good. :(

Don’t tell me you guys didn’t know that Wang’s main racket got damaged because of the reporter ran into rest area to take photo, and it’s really high chance someone intentionally doing that !!! That’s is why he lost !

In my opinion Wang kept stepping around to play forehand from the backhand side too much. He kept trying to do it even when he didn't really have the time to do it effectivley

No excuses needed. That day better men won. That is all to it. Trulls is crafty player and skillful at it. All credit goes to him. Chuquin is incredible player, but Trulls disruptive game got to him. They will battle again. I enjoy when champions clash. One sided wins are boring.

WCQ loss was surprised but now I have significant doubt on FZD. At the time when Liu GL didn’t choose Ma Long, I felt so sad but now, I felt better…If FZD can’t win the gold, both he and more Liu GL have to prepare for a giant complaint by Chinese.

Warum zeigen Sie dann nur die Fehler von Truels in diesem Video?

Where is it possible to see the match ?

Let's not forget that Moregard is a fantastic talent, showed it years ago finishing second behind FZD at the WC. He stopped developing in the last years but maybe this is his Olympic games.

Actually haven't watch the game but I already knew that WCQ has a weakness and the dragon exposes that on the World Cup

Imagine Playing a game where 1.4 billion people expect, almost demand you to win. That is pressure.

Moregard played out of his mind. The racquet issue is not an excuse. A true champion will rise to the occassion regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunate as it was, WCQ just wasn't fully engaged mentally in the match, hence the loss.

The response from Wang was amazing and humble

Wang has denied that the racket is to blame, but all table tennis players know it is indeed the racket at fault! The Olympic Committee blocked my attempt to show what happened on YouTube, citing copyright issues. However, there may be some videos of the incident circulating that show the total devastation in Wang's eyes and how his coach helped him calm down. I could even see tears in Wang's eyes. It is sad that the Committee blocks all table tennis Olympic content from YouTube, denying people the right to view the Olympics. In poor countries, there is no access to television, and YouTube is the only place to watch videos. The behavior of the Olympic Committee discriminates against half of the world's poorest population.

Video footage from the audience at the scene showed that reporter No. 3488 squatted on the ground and broke Wang's racket. It is really shameful that the country hosting the Olympics cannot even guarantee the most basic security! They didn't even find out in time the reporter who maliciously damaged the athlete's racket!

Ma Long should have a chance to defend his singles gold in the Olympics. Truls played amazing and could win a medal.
