No matter under what circumstances. Throwing paddle or slamming it is inappropriate. We know professionals have good and bad days. But if you are out there competing, you are not only representing yourself but your country. A well deserved ban. Hopefully he will come back stronger not only physically but also mentally.

I think it was a good decision to ban him. Sure it was not that bad but China has enough players that they don't need him even though he is a great talent. This will help him as being a hot head is not good for racket sports. In NBA that might work but not in racket sports as there is too much failure to be a hot head. Banned or suspended? The statement says suspended. It's not the same thing at all.
Suspension might be OK, though a bit excessive if he misses the Olympics. Banned would be way too excessive.

What's the big deal ? Sweden's Truls Moregard throws his racquet further than that ! ha ha. He doesn't scream like Harimoto. Moral of the story: You don't have to show class to be a champion.

the bann is well deserved. If he threw the bat on his side then it would be a yellow card etc etc.. the way he did it he might have hit the opponent.
