You should do this with people that actually love sugar

There’s a difference between “sugar” and “added sugar”. Sugars like Maltose is a natural sugar. You find this in things like organic honey, agave, and even fruits! You’d have to look at the ingredient list or look at labels that have the new label that have the “added sugar” section. Added sugar is typically refined, white sugar. Remember- a little bit of sugar is good but it’s about balance.

How interesting that she wore the exact same clothes, felt the exact same, and said the exact same words on days 8 and 13...

These videos are always just "I learned I actually have to cook food from scratch to avoid processed sugar".

I live in France and after seeing this video I went straight to the fridge to check how much sugar was added into my food. Surprise, I didn't had any added sugar. I even checked a prepared salad and there was no sugar even in the dressing. I am really glad that I don't have to worry that much about added sugar to my food.

Added sugar is linked to adverse health effects. However, glucose plays an essential role in the body. Focus on maintaining necessary carbohydrate levels by consuming fruits which are rich is fructose unlike processed foods which contain sucrose.

I just started this challenge a week ago! So far I've been doing really well, and I've found a lot of options of stuff that I can eat. I went to a local organic food store, and I found no sugar added options for things like ketchup, salad dressing, pasta, and other staples that generally have sugar in them. I didn't cut out simple carbs (sustainable change is more important than extreme change people!), so I've been doing things like making my own bread at home so that I can still enjoy the food I love. I've made some exceptions and eaten some thing that have a gram or two of added sugar per serving, and I've had one night where I went off the challenge because there weren't any other options at the event I was at. Not starving is more important to me than rigidly following a self imposed challenge, so I'm just proud of what I've accomplished so far. Hopefully I continue to have a successful month!

The sugar grams don't tell if there is added (refined) sugar. She would need to read the ingredient label for that. There are natural sugars that would be ok.

I can cut out artificial sugar but not natural sugar in fruits and honey

So.... I am vegan/gluten free/sugar free/completely allergic to processed food and the sugar detox and withdrawal is seriously real, it was the hardest thing for me to let go of. It took lots of prayer.

My best friend and I gave up sugar and carbs (rice, bread, pasta, etc.) for Lent (6-7 weeks) and we had a very similar experience as you guys! But now neither of us has really been able to go back to our previous diets since. I still get sick from sugar a couple of months later!

I am on 21 days no sugar. Today is Day 14. On days 3 and 4, my body went through some serious detox symptoms. I had stomach cramps, nausea, and a terrible headache. By day 5 I got better. My energy didn’t really start increasing until day 6/7.
I still feel like I need extra rest, though, on this sugar detox. I am also only eating plant-based at this time.
I would like to continue this after the 21 days. Maybe take a break, because Christmas will be coming right after I finish. But, start right back after Christmas.
My skin is clearing up. This is the best my skin has looked in a long time.

As a european it is fascinating to see, how many products contain sugars in the US.
I thought I knew, but was still surprised taht something like pasta would contain it :o
Good going people :)
And thank you for sticking with it for a month, to actually see results

there's a difference between something naturally having sugar, and added sugar...

I personally think dried medjool dates and boiled coconut water are reeeeaaally sweet, so they're good refined sugar alternatives if you wanna sweetened something. Although, I'm more of a savory person, so not sure if it would satisfy someone with a sweet tooth.
