How much money do we spend on "treating" diabetes? Changing your diet can reverse diabetes? All doctors should be encouraging their patients to change their diet instead of taking drugs for type 2 diabetes.

Thank goodness this kind of information is going mainstream after decades of recommending low fat/high carb diets to diabetics

I fail to see how this is new information. We’ve known this for decades. My grandmother restricted her carbs since the 1950s, and she died at the age of 85 from an unrelated Illness.

I've had about 27, 000 clients about 1/3rd of them have been for weight loss. Replacing carbs with greens, increasing greens and healthy fats usually have a 15LB weight loss within the first 2 months and it and about 35 pounds total after 4 months.

The number one question I get is "won't I gain all this weight back?" The answer is no because you've learned what to minimize, you've cut out Dextrose and syrups even found in ketchup and replaced them with the same spices and same ketchup but without those hidden ingriendents so you now know what to buy and you feel so much better that you don't want to quit. It's mostly greens, Beef, mushrooms, optional organ meats, lemon juice, and berries, Pistachios, pumpkin seeds. You can really make anything with any greens and meat. I try to keep people under 40 net carbs if they have a wedding coming up and want quicker results.

This is what the intermittent fasting, keto, and low carb high fat communities have been doing for quite some time now, with great testimonials of reversing T2 diabetes and insulin resistance, and manageable and consistent excess fat/weight loss. Yet, they've often been discredited. Maybe now more people will be looking into dietary changes. You've got to eat as according to your body's requirements. Eric Berg on youtube is a great resource for these kinds of dietary changes.

Was diagnosed with T2D in October 2023 with a 6.9 a1c fasting glu of 137. Because I didn’t reach 7.0 my doctor told me to lose weight and to see me in 3 months, no meds. I didn’t go for 5 months. On march 11 2024 I went in and my a1c is 5.3 and fasting glu of 91.

It does not run in family like in Genes but it runs in family diet. People eat same thing as their family

This is nothing new, diet regulation was the standard treatment in the days before modern medicine. Back in the 50s, I had a neighbor that used diet regulation rather than Insulin to regulate his Blood Sugar.

I thought this was already a known fact. 🤔

Keto and Low Carbers have known this for 15 years. Good to see mainstream media and American Doctors catching up.

About time. When I had gestational diabetes with a pregnancy a nutritionist recommended 250 grams of carbs per day. Thankfully I didn’t listen and managed by GSD with a low carb diet and never had to be put on medication, and had zero complications.

Diabetes does not run in anyone's family. The only running happening is towards bad food. I reversed my diabetes this way when I was told it was irreversible by a doctor. I ignored her advice and changed the way I thought of food. I never used the same food that was making me sick to rescue me from low blood sugar. That was the common prescription by doctors but it never made sense to me.

Nothing new low carb diets have always been recommended for t2d (type 2 diabetes). As a matter of fact low carb and reduced oil like not eating a lot of fried food can pervent t2d in ppl who are at higher risk: blacks, latinos, hawaiians, pasific islanders. And fried foods/fast food are increasing the rate of t2d in healthier nationalities like east asians, middle easterns, mediterrians. Info brought to you by a t1d. Good luck.
