Literally been having those problems since I was a kid, always sat criss cross with extending my hips externally my whole life and now I'm paying the price with limited internal hip mobility. Thanks for the explaination

What actually stands out the most to me is how he holds his breath, tenses his neck, and looks up to the ceiling as he's squatting, even when he's just doing bodyweight. The things mentioned in the video are obvious, on a second viewing. lol

Finally! This clip is tailor-made for me. That’s how I feel the need to squat. But I don't plan on doing olympic lifts. Should I still do these exercises/drills?

I'm assuming it's fine to continue to squat like that if one has no olympic lifting goals? Just straight up maintenance, functionally and athletically (boxing, bjj) speaking.

is there a website or an area where one could get lessons to have expertise like this ? here in france there are so little ways to learn techniques like this and i would love to be able to learn these

It’s the same for me. I have flat feet and my hips are externally rotated (duck feet) and I can’t do a squat unless I do the crab stance 😂

I had a similar case. I worked through it by working on my mobility in general, but it took forever

I'm assuming there's a reason why he's checking out the ceiling instead of a neutral position and I assume if this was bad then you would not have had him do it like this. So what's the reasoning behind it. I've always hammered on myself and others about a neutral neck instead of trying to throw it backwards over the bar.
