Thank you so much for this! My gym has this type of setup and I wasn’t sure what the lower guards were for or how to adjust the height of the bar. I saw bolts and thought oh no I can’t adjust them. I was tippy-toeing it for weeks smh 😂 now I see it’s as simple as flipping them up then pulling them out. Thank you again!

Nice information. One thing I’d say about going to failure is loss of good form and increased injury potential because of that, especially if you’re a beginner.
