God still want us to be able to feel his love, peace, joy, overall presence too though. Yes not 100% of the time but still sometimes. I tangibly feel his presence often. He created our ability to feel. Every aspect about us that God created, is meant to be satisfied by Him. That includes our feelings.

I went through the same struggle. Then I read through the whole Bible and it ended that struggle for me. The book turned me into an atheist, cause there be some horrific stories in there!
