Thanks for making this video. I was getting sick and tired of buying new cords. I didn't have a screwdriver that small so I decided to use a needle instead. It worked just the same.

Thanks for the tip, worked like a charm. Fixed 3 cables that still look like new but were loose.. they lock in nice and tight now!

Fantastic video. It helps to see, physically, how the plug functions. I had an extra cable lying around so I tested it and, sure enough, the "prongs" on the old cable were worn. The new one snapped right into place. Thanks so much!

64 yr old woman fixed two long cables that I didn't have to throw out. Thank you. They weren't cheap and I was frustrated that they weren't staying locked in place.

The prong tip was so helpful!!!! I looked at my others chargers and found the one with the best prong and it was loose and it hold my phone up in the air..

Spot on!

With most of substandard purchases I've made, I also encounter other issues like wires that easily bend near the connectors. Sadly, the prongs from these USBs tend to easily break with no way to "lift" them up. 😞

Worked like a charm! Can't say it was easy as it seemed there was little to no space to get the tool in there but persistence paid off. I finally used a precision screwdriver set, the smallest one, after a few failed attempts with what tools were convenient, lol. Love that click sound. Thks 🙂

In used a pair of finger nail clippers to grab the edge and pull out ward. worked well. Thanks for the tutorial

WONDERFUL !

After so much twaddle from you tubers telling us we have to reinforce the cable, or shove bits of soft plastic into the port, to clean it.

So satisfying now, to discover someone who knows what he's talking about.

BIG TA !

Tech Minded, Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I used the tip of a fish hook to bend those tabs that get flattened down from .repeated use. i found the smallest Micro screw driver blade usually is 1.5 mm or 1/16 inch too wide to get in there

Very useful! After 40 years in IT, I'd never have thought of this on my own, but of course, that's how micro USB plugs *have to* work. Thank you!!

You can also grind down the little pointy edges (that may have became not so pointy/rounded over the time) on those prongs with something like a nail filer.

I have searched this thing but didn't find anything about these clips... So weird that it came out to my front randomly 3 years after my search... Thank you.

Thanks very much for this video, now my cable fits securely -- this in combination with picking the dust out with a toothpick did the trick! One tip for those trying to get the dust out -- i picked out dust a couple of weeks ago but the dust can be pretty tightly compacted -- that's why it's best to use a toothpick. Just understand that you may not see fluffballs of dust yet there is still dust in that port!
