I cannot stand when cables don't plug in, or they go in but fall out. Sometimes you have to hold them "just right" or else bumping it will stop your phone from charging.

Literally found this video because I googled "How to clean concrete out of a USB-C port"

I was about ready to buy a new phone. My cable would not stay in and was loose and I couldn't charge my phone. I found this video and gave it a chance and I am amazed. I could not believe all of the dust and stuff that came out of that small plug in. Now my phone cable snaps in and stays like it's new. Finally, I can charge my phone. Thank you very much for this video !

For those not wanting to shave down a toothpick, flosspicks are the perfect width, pokeyness, are non-metallic and have the little 'hook' at the end for grabbing pesky lint for this purpose.

Can't believe this was the Problem..
Easy fix, Toothpicks work great.

Thank you. For a moment I thought that I had to replace the USB-C connector on my Huawei P9 phone. I was surprised to have removed so much lint and fluff that were sitting at the base of the socket. Good as new! Thanks again.

It worked...after months of trouble, setting the charger at an angle, I was finally able to clean my charging port. I was reluctant at first. I was worried that I might damage my charging port...but then I anyway went with it....I am surprised at how much lint built up in there...It's all like new now.

A+ fixed my loose connection in less than 2min. I'm amazed at how much lint and debris was packed way up in there. Thanks for the video. I'm sure this trick will be useful throughout life. I'll be sure to buy a case with a charging port cover next time!

Thanks man! I tried this multiple times on different devices and it never really worked. I read a comment here saying it took 30 minutes or more, so I decided to really put some time in it. After a long session of poking and gently scraping, I did see multiple really small bits of lint fly out the port or they were stuck on the tip. They weren't as satisfyingly big as in your video, and I even started to doubt if my OnePlus 5T's port was made from metal on the bottom. It really looked like everything was cleaned out.
I just kept pokin' that port... Sure enough, my phone can hang from it's cable again and dash charging gets recognized immediately.

Years ago I even bricked my old HTC M8 since I moved over to a piece of metal to scrape the port. Although it's not really recommended, people still mention it. NEVER use metals to pick that port folks. A toothpick like in this video does work, 100% Take your time.

Thank you so much Cam. In lieu of a toothpick, I used a plastic floss pick. It's gentle enough and no sharpening is required. Cheers!

Incredible. I had been taping my charger into my P20 pro at night with packing tape, that's how bad the lint was pushing the charger out. Bought the replacement part and was about to take the phone apart... saw this video, spent 10 minutes cleaning the port with this method Now it says "super charging" again which I had forgotten it ever said. The pile of lint was about the size of a dime...nasty

Thank you so much for this tip. I started experiencing trouble like this a week ago and didn't know what to do about it. So, I looked on YouTube and found your channel that explains it all. I really appreciate you doing this video. It saved me a big headache and a lot of worry. You've got a new subscriber.

The shaping of the toothpick trick was really helpful. Tried with multiple brushes, vacuums and small object but didn't manage to do get the stuff out. The toothpick did it for me, after making it thinner with a knife. Also cut half of the width to get the edges of the port. Great video

Have fought with my phone over the last year and it's gotten harder and harder to charge and was about ready to throw it away until I found this tip and it works! Simple and awesome, thanks! :)

Thank you, this simple 5-minute solution helped me to connect my cable tightly and allow my S8+ to fast charge again. Saved me from buying a new port. It just needs a proper, and I mean "don't even leave a little pice in there", cleaning. Thank you for sharing!

That actually worked! I have had this problem for a year and didn't know how to fix it. It was a perfectly sized piece of plastic that made it look like it was part of the port on the bottom. You're a lifesaver!

Thank you so much for your suggestion of shaving down a tooth pick. I have a OP 6T that I've had since launch and the charge port has become so loose it was very difficult to get the cable to stay in even when laying flat on a table. It had a LOT of wiggle to the cord and I was worried the connector inside the port was damaged, I had tried multiple USB C cables.

I had tried using a tooth pick and was able SOME of the gunk out. I hadn't thought of trimming it down to be thinner so it could reach in the curved sides.

Thanks to your guide I now have a perfect snap when I plug in my cable, and the phone can hang upside down from the cable with no wiggle.

I think out of the box all the time, and never had anything like this cross my mind when struggling with my own charge port issues..! This worked beyond amazing to get the built up lawn and tree services debris out of my port without the possibility of arching across terminals! 2 thumbs up!!!
