How to Make Pickled Red Cabbage

PICKLED RED CABBAGE [RECIPE]

This is such a simple recipe with high reward! It’s a versatile side that goes great with sandwiches, tacos, salads, bowls, barbecue! Whatever you want! Delicious way to brighten up most dishes! Plus it’s a cruciferous vegetable, my fave! Red cabbage contains anthocyanins (responsible for the red pigment) which is a powerful antioxidant.

📋Ingredients:
About 1/4 red cabbage (sliced)
-1 cup water
-1 cup white vinegar
-1 tsp salt
-1 tsp maple syrup*

Method:
-dissolve salt and maple syrup in water+vinegar
-slice cabbage and place in jar
-boil solution and pour over cabbage, and cover and seal

Store in the fridge! Lasts weeks!

*Feel free to use sugar, but I rarely use sugar in my cooking. For any sweetener, I use maple syrup, honey, dates, or any natural sweetener than is lower on the glycemic index.
