hi, i am a cricket, (and i have ptsd, so i get easily overwhelmed) so i have piles of "to be filed..." or rather, i DID have piles... your recent video on paper organization helped me so much. it was scary and it took a bit to get the courage to change my system, but i did (i still need proper containers, but they are sorted for now). it lifted such a weight off once it was done. i told my psychologist about it this morning and she was so proud of me. (i am mentioning it here because you kind of hit on those categories in this video). thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experiences. my home is still a work in progress, but you have helped me more than you will ever know.

I cracked up with the new blue Jean story! It reminded me of the time I bought a brand new purple shirt for my husband. He wore it without it first being washed. It was a very hot fall day and we left for an event. It was so hot we were all drenched with sweat. We got back home, he took off his shirt and everywhere the shirt was- he was purple! 😂 Since that time we’ve made sure EVERYTHING new got washed (separately) before even wearing. We still to this day laugh so hard about that day! 😂

Cas, kicking my shoes (tidily) in the corner IS their dedicated spot because I don't live with a jillion people and I don't want to handle my shoes every time I come in the house! 😄I also use several different areas that work for ME for the items you said HAVE to be in an entryway landing strip/launchpad. NOPE! If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Honoring our OWN wisdom & systems is still being organized! 💖

I love all of these suggestions but we live in a townhouse with very limited closets, no walk in pantry, no garage, no real entryway area for coats, boots etc, and not really a place for bins. Things like our vacuum cleaners really annoy me because they just sit out since there are no closets for them. I would love to see a video incorporating these ideas into smaller living spaces for full-size families.

I love that you call it a clutter catcher. In my home it's called a crap basket lol

I'm trying to waste less paper. So, I started collecting all the envelopes from the mail and using them to make lists. Grocery, To Do, weekly meal plans, etc. Works great!

My Roomba’s name is “Rosie” from the Jetson’s. My adult girls bought this for me as a Christmas gift several years ago. Love it!

Cas, I love watching/listening to you as I do housework. Today, I unloaded then loaded my dishwasher, matched up all my leftover containers with their lids, and got rid of the rest. I am now the proud owner of a section of my kitchen where all the lids are on their containers and ready to go! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

One of the greatest laundry hacks was briefly pictured but not discussed: having a place to put clothes that have been worn but are still clean enough to wear again. As another Youtuber pointed out, if they're clean enough to put back on your body, they're clean enough to put back in the closet. 😄 I use a garment bag as a divider and just hang 'em up. : - ) 👚👖

I found you a few weeks ago and am on my way to a serious whole house declutter. It will take a few months, but your advice about breaking the process into manageable projects was a game-changer! And not making piles, but putting things directly in my car to give/donate and in a garbage bag immediately so there isn't a mess, well, what a difference that made! Thanks for being such a great motivator!

CAS SAVE MONEY….
Could you laminate your all out of list then use an erasable marker and at the end of the week take a photo to take to the store… I know a pad is fun but that pad is quite pricey. Just a thought if it helps ❤
Love the new towel and robe such a pretty blue
😊

First, listening to audiobooks while cleaning is EVERYTHING. I used to read a lot, but don’t have time anymore. I felt so sad that I was missing out on so much great literature. Then, five years ago I discovered AUDIOBOOKS. I love my life again. Second, I’m surprised you don’t have a grocery list that you can tell Alexa to add things you need from the store to. I have a grocery list in my lists on my phone. When I’m cooking, if I run out of curry, for example, I just keep on working in the moment whilst casually saying “Hey Siri, add Curry Powder to my Grocery List” and it’s there for me whenever I’m in the grocery store next! Hopefully this helps YOU as much as YOU’VE helped me!

Beautifully dyed laundry!! Reminds me of when I was a kid and I got a promotional T-shirt from a trip. I was in a phase when I wanted everything to be pink, but there was only a choice of red, white or blue. I got white…. But at some point when my mum washed it, it ended up pink anyway! “Happy little accidents” haha

Ooh Cass. Buy Shout Color Catchers. They are magical and whatever color leaks out of clothes gets caught by the little catcher sheet and nothing will be randomly dyed again. I have no idea how they work, but they really work!

Yes...New dark wash jeans, especially. Wash them several times with just darks and also exfoliate after wearing them or you could be like me and end up with a mysterious rash I could figure out for weeks. Saw the dr and was given a topical cream that didn't help. I decided to cost my thighs in coconut oil to soothe my skin and noticed blue oozing from my pores. It was my jeans. They had been washed several times and worn a dozen or more times by then (I wash jeans about every 3 or 4 wears or so)...once I saw a tinge of blue, I showered and really exfoliated and you would not believe how the blue dye ran down ! I was stunned! Never happened to me before or since, but something to be aware of!
