This is the most comprehensible tutorial on trimsheets in Blender I've seen so far, you really put some effort in explaining this topic to the average user. Much appreciation!

Great video, I'm sure you already know this but you can fix those AO issues you have at the edges of your trim sheet by creating a instanced copy of your model and placing them to the left and right, that way you wont get that lighter area towards the edges. Thanks again.

Amazing tutorial, even though it took me 3 days to work it all out. First time using substance.
Very educational & clear, Thank you.

I have a very detailed wall in Unreal now, that is only 6 Tris.
And it looks incredible.

Thanks for making this Josh! GrabDoc developer here, most of the issues you had with the tool here have been resolved, currently trying to package things up nicely for Blender 3.0.

Small tip, you should probably extend/array your trim sheets beyond the border on all sides so the ambient occlusion doesn't cut off at the edges if you are trying to make it repeat without that "seam" :)

Exactly at the right moment, needed some texturing of a space ship (cus i didnt want to just put a simple color with some nodes) but this workflow looks rly neat. Thanks for the video

A huge part of trim sheets is unwrapping the complex object to fit onto a trim sheet. It would have been great to see how that part is tackled.

hey josh, great tutorial! Just one little point on the overcluttering of trim sheets. I don't think this can be generalized, it rather depends on the project and ones personal aproach how he works with trim sheets. In the end a trim sheet is a repository of texture snippets and not a design Element on it's own.

When youre applying modfiers, for example, can you show what buttons youre clicking instead of mumbling your actions? In trying to follow along, i get lost when you speed click thru diffrent things then i fall behind. i.e. 7:00

25:05...I bake out in substance painter...it only takes a couple seconds, but baking in Blender for some reason can take upwards of 10 mins...
Edit: ahhh, that add on makes baking magic...

You should make a video for creating seamless textures

Fantastic tutorial! Though I recommend doing the basic Boxcutter/Hard Ops tutorial first, because this is a little advanced if you're just learning the addon.

Nice tuto. Thanks for that!
If you want to export in the right folder when you use GradDoc, just add a backslash "\" at the end.

Really cool. I'm literally making a scifi environment for a Unity game right now. This method might help speed up development.
