I’m a retired cop. I would have checked the area, reassured her that everything was ok and cleared the call. There’s no reason to even go in the house. This tragedy was 100% avoidable. He belongs in prison for the rest of his life.

Don't forget that the policeman established that the woman was mentally unwell when he asked her about her mental state and she said she is taking medication.
