Phoenix PD body cam video shows moment officer shot by suspect at gas station

The Phoenix Police Department released body camera video that captured the moment that a Phoenix police officer was shot by alleged shooter Nicholas Cowan. 12 News has paused the video at the moment that the officer was shot.

Cowan, 35, is accused of shooting and seriously injuring a Phoenix police officer at a gas station near Cave Creek and Beardsley roads on April 14.

A woman called 911 and asked to meet police at the gas station because she was afraid of a confrontation with Cowan, the department said.

She’s wrong on so many levels she and her partner should have had their weapons drawn ordering him to step out of the vehicle while on the radio calling for back up with prior knowledge of him having a hand gun.

OK so this is 4th video we're I've seen phoenix cops get shot because of slacking on the Job that 911 call said it all that he has a gun he tryed to hang himself and was beating his own head with a bat also thought I heard caller say he would shoot it out with cops why would you start walking towards him with your gaurd down like that this women cop is a danger to herself and all of us she clearly has no idea what's happening. Want to add I hope she is doing well and recovers.
