As someone who constantly ate fastfood and frozen pizzas because my mom left me when I still was a child, I can tell you by experience, that healthy food in school isn’t necessarily mandatory for good grades.

I’ve never had breakfast in my life because I’m a chronically bad sleeper. I was always late for school my whole life and no one cared to wake me up or make me some food in the morning.

However, I was still always a straight A student. I’m not saying that it is good to live the same lifestyle as me, I would still highly advice you to get enough sleep and eat healthy, but taking these aspects as an excuse for bad performances at school, is just wrong.

If you want good grades, do your fecking best to pay attention in class. Try to really learn and understand the things that are teached. Do your homework instantly when you get home from school and if you REALLY want straight A‘s, go ahead and prepare yourself for your next class by asking your teacher at the end of every class, what the subject in the next class will be. Then prepare yourself for it before you have that class the next time.

Try to learn as fast as possible for exams, don’t let time pass because „you still have enough time“. Use that spare time to study because you won’t know whether studying will take longer or not… and if you always study right away after you know when an exam will be and what the subject will be about, you will never have the problem, that you run out of time. You will always have more free time than anybody else in class, because you will never fall behind unlike the others.

Eating healthy and having enough sleep is good, but it won’t necessarily help you with good grades (I know this from experience). I knew a lot of people who had a waaay healthier lifestyle than me and still weren’t even close to my grades.
