The red note has nothing to do with chairman Mao. Red in chinese means popular, Red note means note about popular stuffs. Just for your info. It's a private company owned.

When I call bank call centre, all the customer service reps are from overseas, India, Dominican Republic, etc. They can access all your data. Why don't you worry about your security risk?

Lies right from the start. RedNote not named in honor of Mao's book, that book called "Book full of treasures" in Chinese, so it spelled differently. This one use meaning of word "red" in Chinese as "popular, rising". So it means "Popular book", or "book of things that rise in popularity", which makes much more sense, given that politic topics not in fashion on this platform, its about lifestyle, makeup, restaurants/tourism. Chinese have other platforms to discuss politics.

But of course right wing american media will tie ANYTHING Chinese to Mao, can't get rid of stereotypes. Its as if foreigner would thing that EVERYTHING in America named after George Washington

All bloody USA social media have the same terms and conditions. 😏

It is recommended not to associate rednote with Mao Zedong, because they are not the same thing in the Chinese context. In addition, many Americans have logged into rednote and will find that the content there has nothing to do with politics and has nothing to do with Mao Zedong. You will be found to be lying.

It's clear that this female "expert" has not been on Red Note. 😁😁 She has no clue.

OMG, could they only find an old lady to say they would not go to Red Note because "fear of data loss". Is she really a social media "expert"??? As an expert, first thing I do would be go explore, even in dangers, what rest of social media people, thousands going right? Risk my "data", to find out and then can advise expertly. Instead hide behind and pretend to know what others are experiencing in new environment. Totally insane.

Comparing REDnote to Chairman Mao's book is like comparing dissert to desert.

It ain't that easy to duplicate tiktok's algorithm, or else Facebook would have come up with their own version to compete with tiktok already.
