What I’ve learned. A liar will never believe a word you say, a Conman will never lend you money, and a narcissist thinks your up to something when you’re being nice. Because it’s human nature to expect people to treat you likewise.

They're only nice to people if they want something from them. And they're convinced everybody else is like that too. So they get really suspicious if you're nice because to them, no one is an authentically kind person.

Exacty! My narcissistic husband thinks its either manipulation or a display of superior righteousness. Likewise, when I display self-confidence, he calls it "illusions of grandeur." It is projection and that is tragic!

My experience is they try to destroy my kindness, to get me angry and off balance, then they are happy.

This is so true. When you are kind and nice, the narcisists get angry. They are impossible people. Catch 22.

I see this at my job all the time, I’m nice to someone and see the disgust on them. In my head I’m like “you sad strange little person.”

Makes so much more sense! I was twisting myself like a pretzel. Being happy, kind & amenable was met with anger, condescending aggressive behavior. It befuddled me. Thank you for your clarity. I feel a sense of relief 🙂
