When I went through recruitment, I went to this one chapter and absolutely didn't click with anyone that first day. There wasn't an immediate connection, and I thought there was no way it was going to be where I would end up. As the days went on, though, and as they kept asking me back, things started to change. I started falling in love with the chapter starting on the second day, and by pref, was absolutely POSITIVE it was where I wanted to be.
If you don't like a house, and are asked back, go in with an open mind. You only talked with a few people that first day, and as recruitment goes on, you might find that you just happened to talk to people you didn't really click with at first. I'm so glad I stuck it out, and I'm so glad my Theta sisters saw something in me that I didn't know was there, and helped me make the best decision of my college career.

The preconceived notions one is so true omg. I went into rush thinking I knew what sorority I wanted and I thought very little of the one I ended up getting a bid from because of what I heard from other people. Looking back now I can see how bad that was and how lucky I was to still get a bid even though I definitely didn't want one from the sorority I now love and couldn't imagine my life without.

Thank you for mentioning how you knew people who had to re-rush sophomore year because thats what Im doing this year! I was so nervous that i was the only one that has ever done it but now im excited to find my actual home!

I rushed during informal recruitment (in the fall at my school) and this is honestly so true! I know I went in with a closed mind and made my decision before rushing. I ended up not getting a bid from that house, but I decided to give another house a fair chance. And now, I'm super happy to be a member of Delta Gamma. If you go in with an open mind, you could end up in a house that's surprisingly an incredible choice for you.
