This video covers the top 4 causes of the #NAME error in Excel and how to fix them. By the end of this video you will have a fix for your #NAME formula error. The top 4 causes of the #NAME error in Excel are:

1. Misspelled formula
2. Misspelled cell range
3. Text without quotes
4. Misspelled name range

Misspelled formula - Make sure that you have spelled the formula correctly. For example, you might have misspelled VLOOKUP, SUM, or SUMIF. Correct the misspelling then you will fix the #NAME error.

Misspelled cell range - Maybe you spelled the formula correctly but misspelled the range within the formula. You might be missing the colon within the cell range or are using the wrong combination of letters and numbers to select the range.

Text without quotes - VLOOKUP, SUMIF, other formulas require string values to be entered in quotes. If your formula is missing quotes it will return a #NAME error. Add quotes to the string to fix the error.

Misspelled name range - Last but not least you might have misspelled your named range. Misspelling a named range will generate the #NAME error.

Being someone who creates content on YouTube, it always amazes me how many people can learn from videos and yet not be "bothered" to click the Like button. Less than 1% of the Views were helped by this video. I doubt it!
Nice work!! Thank you!

My #Name? error only happens on my spreadsheet when i use it on my computer..when i use it on other computers it works just fine...why does that happen? Could it be the setting on the Excel program that i use? I am not an expert on Excel and my spreadsheet was done by someone else who himself does not know why that happens?😅 If someone knows why this happens, can you pls advise me? Tq
