thank you - i've been trying for a week to get rid of an accidentally-overlong file name. I've tried Windows Explorer, then Unlocker (didn't work at all) and Powershell (got scared because the crazy long commands required) and the c: prompt window (didn't work).
I already had 7-Zip so your solution took me seconds. Renamed, then was able to delete back in Windows. Thanks again. 😁

Don't worry about not being able to copy and past the file name like he does, watch the video all the way through as it shows proper use of 7-zip.
This helped me so much, all the microsoft sites were dead wrong trying this and that with the command prompt or mapping a network drive crap, but you nailed it. THANK YOU!!!

Opening up Winrar I was also able to just "shift+del" and it permanently deleted. Bravo to you :)

Spent a good 20 mins in command prompt and regedit looking at other ways to do it, none worked - this one did, straight away - so simple.
