Thank you for the info. As a military retiree, I can understand the need to have both Tricare for Life and Medicare. Many physicians will not accept Tricare as they have difficulties collecting reimbursement from Humana for Tricare claims. Virtually all hospitals and physicians accept Medicare.

Thanks for the information, I’m currently on TRICARE. Will keep this on mind as I reach 65. By the way, I seen all the videos you have posted, I learned a whole bunch. Thanks a lot.

Thank you for the information! I will be turning 65 in two years, and this is definitely something I have been think about. I use the VA for all my prescriptions, and I am a military retire so I use Tricare as well.

I have had TRICARE for life, since I retired from the Army 1 Sep 2006. Because TRICARE wants to pay 2nd, they told me that I have to have MEDICARE or MEDICADE in order to keep TRICARE. I have so much coverage that it makes no sense. 100% VA, Social Security Disability and TRICARE; I will love to cancel that $165 with no penalties. Plus I live overseas and I never use it; I only use TRICARE For Life in the Country where I live. Thanks for the video

There is an additional category and that is active duty military dependents. Their tricare does’t turn into Tricare for life as long as their sponsor/spouse is on active duty. And when they do retire, there is an exception to allow the over 65 dependent to enroll in Medicare.

I have VA healthcare and basic medicare, not the part B so its free. I have it as a back up because it is free even though I probably will never use it.

Do you have any videos explaining how this works for families? e.g. what happens to TRICARE Prime for my dependents; how does it work for permanently disabled dependents (children and children over the age of 18 and even further after college);

Thank you !…. I needed to hear this. I’ve been receiving exceptional care from the VA in the past two years. I’m not sure I want to drop Medicare Part B . My biggest question is which provider do I sign up with . I’m currently with Humana. Is there a provider out there that’s better ????

Don't know if Tricare For Life is part of the Community Care Act under VA auspices. I'm a 70 year old veteran with two major health issues, 2 years running, and under the above mentioned CCA have yet to spend one red cent for ALL, except a small prescription co-pay, non-VA diagnostic and hospitalization care. A very good deal in my book. Unless, you want to shell out for Medicare B and Medigap.

The STRAIGHT answer I need, is will TRICARE go away if I don't sign up to spend a lot of extra money on MEDICARE coverage? I didn't think that was possible, but if it IS like that -I AM GOING TO BE VERY DISSAPOINTED and ANGRY

The majority of my medical care comes from the VA, but I live in the country and an emergency or Doctors visit for some reason is possible

All of the messages and offers I have gotten are confuscatory and threatening, this is not acceptable.
There needs to be an absolutely plain explanation

There, I put it plainly

I fear that I need to go old school, and take care of myself

What about VA care 100% + Medicare Part B or FEHB? (BCBS)

I think often YouTubers
Refer to Medicare and Medicare part b without clarifying that they're talkin about a advantage plan not straight Medicare b. This needs clarification

What is this about a VA friendly medicare supplement? I have VA and use it exclusively so far but also have a Blue Cross & Blue Shield medicare supplement. I want it just in case I ever need it. I am 90% with the VA. I don't really want to get tied into an Advantage plan either because you will be in a network system then.
