Military retired people usually have:
Tricare Prime and Veterans Administration medical.
Depending on VA disability the may have 100% medical coverage.
Tricare Prime covers whatever the VA doesn't and Vice versa.

What about if you & your spouse are still working for a very large company & both my spouse & I are covered under his plan. I am not under my company plan but I am covered under my spouses plan. Do I need to be enrolled in Medicare??l

Wait, so you cannot have your own health insurance when or after age 65 with or without group coverage? Not talking about Medicare rules but one can’t just pay for private insurance if they want after they retire?

So what you're saying is you're not allowed to not have MediCare at all. So if you claim social security you must have Medicare correct? I am so confused.

To be clear, if working past 65 and with a credible employer medical plan at a large company you do not have to enroll in Medicare A until you eventually retire? The part that is not clear is whether you have to prove to Medicare upon reaching 65 that you have such an employer plan or do you do nothing at 65 and show proof when actually retiring a couple of years later.?
