Great video frank & Bianca.  I am always worry about my Russian tortoise, when I try to get information online of how to care for Russian tortoise I get five different answers.  I am going to buy a Russian tortoise book but I don't know if the author knows what he/she is talking about.  At this point I am guessing if what I am doing is right.

thank you so much for this video... omggg im so clueless about tortoises and i got my husband a tortoise. Now I'm left caring for him "Rammus" when my husband is at work. He recently got puffy eyes and i was freaking out... thank god my local reptile store has been very supportive and helpful. They hooked it up and I even got to hear a tortoise story as a bonus. I walked out of the reptile store with Reptile Calcium Sand ( i did inform them we have had him for a year and is about 3-4 inches in lenght) Vitamins, Calcium Powder, Reptile Bites ( like an appetizing treat ) and some saline wash and saline mixture to wash his eyes... Rammus' eyes aren't waterey and i did a couple research that it might just be dehydration... he used to soak himself in his water bowl and now I'm soaking him cause i haven't seen him do it for the past 2 days... I'm really concerned that it might be renal failure. Husband says Rammus will be fine... but I'll be restless until i know for sure he is... what other signs of renal failure will i see on Rammus??? and what causes this??? I just added the aloe vera in his diet today... He is eating, he is alert just fyi... if i have to take him to the vet I will... just want to hear from a tortoise experts point of view... please help

When I was 7 I got two tortoises, we bought them from some people online, one of them had a red spot on its shell when we got it, we thought they had drawn it on but it was blood, he was bleeding from the inside, we didn't know so he ended up dyeing. The old owners had children from 3 to 5 and they probably had dropped it.
My other tortoise also had a blue spot on her that was drawn on. Shes still alive and I love her so much, shes healthy and have grewn, she really changed my life, I love her.

I offer my tortoise Organic Spring Mix but he usually only goes for the romain. I ordered him from Kenan. But he love weeds a lot more than lettuce.

My tortoise has had a respiratory infection. He has had antibiotics and he is much better. Since our last visit to the vet, he cannot seem to open his mouth to eat. The vet tried to pry his mouth open and I think he hurt his mouth. What should I do? I have no more money for another Vet visit.

soaking everyday can be bad, can cause respiratory issues, also temps need to be mid 80's and up. low temps will cause respiratory issues. watch out what you feed them. as some things are poisonous or have oxalates which isnt good either.

I know this is an older video by years, but my roommate only feeds her tortoise butter lettuce. It stays in the same place for days.
Idk if that’s wrong but i feel like it is.
It has red spots on its shell. She puts it in the kitchen mostly.

I am having issues with my russian tortoise I need help plz. A contact from someone would be nice. He hardly has passed. For a week is barely moved. Seems lethargic and slow. I took to vet and we are fighting a vitamin A deficiency. But is not seeming to get better. Need some advice.. please..
