In the spirit of the U.S. Army Special Forces birthday, Tim Kennedy (Army Qualified Ranger, Special Forces Sniper) talks about the difference between Special Operations and Army Special Forces. Special Operations in general is all four services as a whole. Army special forces is singular.

I am not in that realm, however, my career has taken me to dangerous places quite often enough to never let my guard down. I respect the hell out of anyone who serves their country and their community. Everyone wants to be elite, I am happy with being "the fall guy"... I am just a unknown stuntman.

And now I know. I always thought SF was referring to DELTA. And Rangers or Green Berets were under SO. Either way they are all heroes in my book.

No way!!!, never knew Tim kennedy was in the special forces, or that he likes guns, is amazing at violence but equally loves alive people and kittens, what an amazing, humble, human, people should worship at his killing machine feet

Former Navy Seal commander and CIA case officer Dick Touch himself said that the Green Berets are the best.

thanks for letting people know. I have been saying this for a long time when people see my qualifications and awards on the wall. I tell them the bravest people I have ever met were Army Green Berets, Navy SEALS, Delta Force and a few others. I was in the Military Intel branch, and told them every day they, are the kind of Americans that allow us to sleep peaceful at night.

Calm down 18x spec baby.. I've done it all myself and I agree. You've never been on both sides, that's an experience in itself.

Tim is a great guy I would really like to meet him some day, he has that down to earth type mentality, to go along with the kill everyone in the room attitude, as well as the ability to do it. Plus the length of time he has maintained that edge is not easy to do at that level.

If I’m a rich player, fuck bodyguards, I need green guards.

Don't get me wrong. SF are good at trigger pulling as well, but to say that they can compete with the best in the world is a no no. There are units dedicated to nothing but death dealing. I don't think any ODA would want take on a team of Dev Group or Delta. Even Rangers for that matter. Rangers are the raiding for SOCOM. They get the most action when it comes to direct action. Then SEALs who focus more on small teamed raids and SR. Green Berets are experts at UW and FID. They are extremely unique and invaluable, but this is not an accurate picture of what SF is doing right now. SF has been focused on doing FID in these last couple of years. DA will never be their bread and butter. SEAL Teams and Ranger battalions are the ones who focus on the death dealing under SOCOM. Then in JSOC it's Dev Group and Delta.

i like how 5.11 is a military brand but yet it shows the wrong division of military, "marine marsoc raiders" shows army infantry*
