My Dad was in the SAS he never ever told me and I didn’t find out until after he died and ex squadron people turned up to his funeral. He was in Malaya. In the garage in a box he had all of his stuff. Sand coloured beret and photographs of people he served with. There was a note for me. It said… Dear son guess you have found out there is a little bit more about me. But that’s ok. You are my hero and I saw how much you struggled for the first 18 months as a baby. I decided to focus everything on you.

Theres a story from the Afghanistan war where there was a bunch of navy seals stationed alongside the SAS. There was a plaque above the seals sleeping quaters saying "Second to none".

One SAS guy noticed this and stuck the word "None" above the SAS sleeping quarters 😂😂

I used to be a contractor at the SAS base. I’ve sat and had breakfast/dinner with them and they have no ego. Humble killers.

The fact our Delta Force was based off them, just tells you how badass they are.

After reading this comment section I am regaining my British pride that keeps being continuously beat out of us back.

Big mention for the Gurkas and their incredible legendary exploits in many campaigns throughout history. Yes they are a British Unit.

I'm retired US Army Ranger, take it from me, the SAS are the most elite force on this planet, they created and trained our special forces! I worked alongside them in Afghanistan and they blew my

I am a 62 year old German and we have good units, but as soon as I hear the question "which is the best special unit in the world" there is only one answer "SAS". I'm biased though, I like the British anyway.

I was honoured to have been the 22 SAS Lone Piper for them when I was in the Guards. Excellent people. Down to earth. Their memorial within Sterling Lines is a Clock. Time is the only thing they can’t beat. Who Dares Wins.

The Americans are so proud of their country (and as a Brit I love and applaud that), to read their comments on how another nation can be better than theirs at anything plays testament to our boys. Makes me proud of my country and proud of our cousins across the pond. Peace USA 🥰🥰🥰

You would think that there would be at least one comment here saying "Oh, they are skilled but our guys are better." But no, everyone here is like "Yeah, what he said is 100% spot on."

The lads drink tea during sustained fire fights. Enough said.

I’m American and veteran, I agree. SAS is a special breed. Longevity, variable capabilities, good humans, and a literal do or die mentality. I’m not saying they are leagues above us but they are definitely the top. Cheers to my brothers in arms.

American here. I’d agree. Their selection process makes buds look like kindergarten and they do high profile missions. I’ll never forget how they quickly invaded that embassy. It was something out of a movie

My dad’s best friend was a captain in the New Zealand SAS, during Vietnam. He LOVED talking about the war and all the people he killed. The toughest man you will ever meet
