Thank you for your videos. I’m at 4 weeks into recovery of a 2nd metacarpal fracture on my dominant hand. I’m a travel ER nurse and you have educated me more of what to expect with my recovery than my orthopedist. I have a feeling it will be a while til I can hold an IV catheter again😭

I sprained my wrist about 4 months ago. It hasn’t gotten worse, but no better. I did go to the doctor for it and he said not to worry too much about it since I still have range of motion. But it is very uncomfortable after a work day, and no matter how much I ice/heat, brace it, etc. it doesn’t seem to be getting any better):

Even if it healed incorrectly? I don’t want surgery but for now… my 4th and 5th finger are deformed and unusable. Occ therapy won’t start for another 2 months due to insurance and long waits. Is the pain going to go away? I can deal with deformity but can’t work with the pain. 🤦‍♀️

I'm 4 weeks post-op for Jersey Finger (FDP avulsion fracture type III). They said 6 weeks post-op time before I can do light functional activities, and 12 weeks total post-op time before I can do heavy lifting and get completely back to normal. Great videos! Could you do a video on Jersey Finger as it seems quite common and the relevant hand therapies? Thank you!

About how long does it take to fully recover from trigger finger surgery??? I had 3 fingers on my left hand repaired on Dec 9th of 2022 and its now Feb, 15th and my hand is still not back to normal.. How long should it take????

On 28 February of this year, I cut my finger with a piece of glass and it chopped into my knuckle and my skin was hanging off as well. It has been healing, but after all this time, it is still not back to normal. There is an area, that seems to not want to heal. And there’s another area that is still swollen. It is still causing me pain not all the time but when it does, it really hurts like a sticking stabbing pain. My finger is really tight and I am trying to bend it, but I haven’t been able to bend it all the way the finger that it cut into is the finger next to the thumb which I think is the pointer finger. The regular primary care doctor and urgent care doctor said that it’s just going to take time, but how much longer? Should I go see a hand specialist just to make sure there’s nothing else going on?

I'm stretching mine etc, but two fingers are still swollen and feel bruised . I fell off my bike and hard to say if I sprained them or broken them . I just taped them together for 6 weeks, I can make a fist but they don't bend all the way in because of the swelling still in my fingers . Those two stick out a bit on my palm . Been like that for 4 months, I take anti flams also and hold them under hot water . Starting to get to me, because I need them to get better to find another job . I broke my other hand years ago and couldn't make a fist for over a year . I guess I need one of those grip strengthen tools .

Great content. After nicking my index finger tendon, and a month in a cast, my plastic surgeon didn't authorize physical therapy. My individual insurance policy is $940 per month. What was I thinking?After watching your videos and trying to rehab on my own for one month, I finally got the surgeon to authorize PT, to get a proper assessment and rehab plan.

My physical therapist was shocked that the surgeon didn't prescribe therapy and she wished that I would have been scheduled for PT immediately after the cast was removed. I was provided about 10 therapy sessions and have made steady strength and ROM improvement, but the process is slow, despite daily hand routines. I am a healthy, active, and still strong older guy, but I know things take longer to rehab for vintage people. At least I can pull in the clutch lever on my motorcycles without any discomfort or concerns.

I broke my hand mid March and my function is mostly returned, but I have still have some swelling and intermittent stiffness in the morning. Also, there is some discomfort when I catch a ball or when I put weight on my wrist of the broken hand. It's just not back to where it was before the break. Will it ever get there? It was a non-displaced boxer's fracture.

My doctor wasn't even concerned about my Boutonniere Deformity in my finger all he said was don't bend it and that it will go back to normal but didn't never tell me a time frame of when. I'm exactly 5 months into healing and my finger still is stiff and hurts from time to time. I honestly don't expect to be healed this quick because of how I dislocated my finger the PIP joint slipped right out and I had to pop it bacc in and got x rays and they said everything looked good I couldn't even tell the difference on the x ray my injured finger looked like the rest like nothing was wrong. I need my stiffness gone and full range bac Miss because I want to get bac to Boxing.

I had communited displaced fracture of epidoncycle of humerus. Cast was 4 weeks. 2 and a half week tried pysio of home. Then 1 month normal pysio. And last 10 days vigorous pysio. Still not fully straightened. Should i get a mri done?

I had surgery for my DIP joint because my tendon tore and I got an avulsion fracture while playing basketball and I cannot move my middle finger at all. I will be going to PT but I’m worried that it will never be the same. Has anyone recovered from serious hand surgeries that could spread some knowledge? Thanks!

I had a injury in my finger from three months i am teken rest it was swelling first and then now it's ok but then also feeling weird in the finger the ball came directly to my finger and got hurt I had removed x ray and the orthopaedic sad don't need to worry it's all good and normal but what should I do now for fast finger recovery 🙂

What about if your doctors are incompetent and you need to do everything yourself? How long should a small pneumothorax take to heal itself (if you got two small ones in two months because of endometriosis)? I'm still coughing after three weeks. My ankle was even swollen at some point (linked to lung issues like pneumothorax).
