6g pipe welding is well paid, welding test are important, Pay attention root pass look inside the pipe and sound.The oilfield is among the most difficult and demanding jobs to get into.
Im doing some welding training, ill be giving welding tips and tricks, taking a welding test also showing welding for beginners pay attention to the sound.
this is arc welding, we are using electrodes 6010 welding for beginners that cant practice or dont know where to go or start.
Here I show a piece of when I took a 6G pipe welding test.

Listen to the sound the welder makes. The second welder, the first one is a beginner at the moment of filming.

Pipe welding is an art in itself, now you can MiG weld pipe and rig weld stainless pipes.

Here I’m using 6010 electrodes for the root pass, I capped it with a 7018 electrode. That’s the last pass.

The first pass is the root pass using 6010

The second is called hot pass.

Third is first bead, so forth.

The last pass is cap.

Usually 7018 in pipe world for stick welding also known as SMAW shield metal arc welding.
